With the majority of Kansas State’s football targets already committed, the Wildcats were not expecting fireworks of any kind on national signing day.
But they received a nice boost Wednesday morning when they received a National Letter of Intent from Bryce English.
A three-star defensive tackle from Desoto, Texas, English chose K-State over a host of other choices. He had scholarship offers from schools such as Texas, Iowa State, SMU, Arizona State, UCLA and Arkansas.
English has the skills to compete for playing time early on with the Wildcats and provide needed depth on the defensive line.
He was rated as the nation’s 30th best player at his position by Rivals after helping Desoto go 10-2 and reach the second round of the Texas 6A D1 playoffs last year. He made 56 tackles, including 14 for loss and six sacks. He also forced three fumbles.
