MANHATTAN — Before ever playing a down in purple, Kansas State sophomore running back Bryce Brown was named to the media’s All-Big 12 preseason team today.
He is the only Wildcat player who made the team, voted on by media members who cover the conference. The former Wichita East standout is set to take his first handoff in a K-State uniform this fall after beginning his college career at Tennessee.
As a freshman with the Volunteers, Brown rushed for 460 yards on 101 carries. He spent the past season practicing with the Wildcats’ scout team, but received positive reviews from coach Bill Snyder. He showed off his skills in front of fans at K-State’s spring game by rushing for 73 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.
He is competing with John Hubert for the Wildcats’ starting running back position.

Oklahoma led the way with nine players named to the preseason team; Oklahoma State and Texas A&M had four apiece, Texas and Missouri had three, and Iowa State had two. No Kansas players were chosen.
