Gonzaga: Gonzaga has won 10 straight West Coast Conference championships and played in the NCAA Tournament 12 straight times.... The Bulldogs got off to a fine start with easy wins against Southern and IUPUI, but are coming off a 79-76 loss to San Diego State. The Bulldogs were outrebounded in that game 39-29, and key forward Elias Harris went down with an apparent injury to his Achilles Tendon, but there is hope that he will return to the floor and play today against the Wildcats.... Senior guard Steven Gray is averaging 25.7 points per game, and will be able to challenge K-State's backcourt.
Kansas State: The Wildcats weren't too happy about their last game, a lackluster 76-67 home victory over Presbyterian. They were unable to outrebound the smaller opponent and needed a few good plays late from junior walk-on Victor Ojeleye to get the win. Afterward, players said they overlooked Presbyterian and coach Frank Martin said his team lacked leadership.... Freddy Asprilla and Wally Judge have started K-State's first three games, but Martin may switch things up and go with Ojeleye, Jamar Samuels or Jordan-Henriquez Roberts today. Senior forward Curtis Kelly could also be an option, but Martin has not said whether he has decided to play Kelly.... Freshman guard Will Spradling, an sees action, the Overland Park native, gets an early homecoming playing in Kansas City, Mo....will play in front of family and friends. Whatever lineup Martin he goes with, K-State should have no problem finding motivation for this game. Gonzaga is ranked No. 11 , and the game will be played in front of a big crowd and be televised on ESPN2.
