Texas: The Longhorns are coming off one of their toughest games of the season, a 72-67 home victory over rival Texas A&M. Texas never led the Aggies in regulation, but forced overtime and escaped with a win. The Longhorns are focusing their defensive attention on Denis Clemente. When the two teams played a year ago in Austin, Texas, Clemente scored a career-high 44 points. Clemente said earlier this week that that was the best game he's ever played. Said junior forward Gary Johnson: "It's going to be a tough game. Denis Clemente gave us 44 last year here at home, and that's still on our mind."
Kansas State: The big day is finally here. A No. 1 ranked team is visiting Manhattan for the first time since 1997, and fans have been talking about this game for some time. Students will be arriving early for the chance to receive one of the 1,000 stick-on beards K-State is handing out to recognize Jacob Pullen's superb play while sporting facial hair. Jamar Samuels can't wait to experience the atmosphere. "First time ever playing on Big Monday and against the No. 1 team in the country. It's something we're looking forward to."
RPIs as of Monday: Texas 4, Kansas State 5.
