Opinion Line (Nov. 1)

President Obama had better be sending more troops into Afghanistan. We need to bomb all the borders and then go in for the middle. We are losing too many guys. Either get us in there or get us out.

I am proud of our Nobel Peace Prize-winning president. He is the reason America is being respected again in the eyes of the world.

* * *

Thanks to former Vice President Dick Cheney for exposing the deception and lies of the Obama administration.

* * *

Cheney and Sen. John McCain still want to "bomb, bomb, bomb," but more and more Americans are realizing there are better ways to solve problems, even between countries.

The Kansas Corporation Commission — better known as a branch office of Westar.

* * *

Since Westar wants to equalize our rates with those of northern Kansas, I think the city of Wichita and Sedgwick County should give taxpayers and homeowners a property-tax break for finding alternative sources of energy.

* * *

Attention, downtown planners and developers: Leave your egos at the door.

* * *

Dear Wichita: A casino is not the Big Bad Wolf. It's Little Red Riding Hood, with a basket full of revenue and jobs.

* * *

Give me a break. We could have had the same acts that are coming to the new downtown arena come to Century II or the Kansas Coliseum.

* * *

If you take the lawyers out of the death penalty equation, you could probably carry out the executions the day of sentencing.

* * *

I see it is now acceptable for Wichita school administrators and their banker buddies to peddle debt to 14-year-old kids under the guise of financial education ("Credit union in high school," Oct. 28 Local & State). Some kids may receive a collection notice before they receive a diploma.

* * *

The day-care employees who called to report that their boss was driving drunk with kids in the car put the kids' welfare before their own. They deserve medals.

* * *

At "Wicked," it became evident to me that the powers that be in Wichita need to sponsor a weight-loss challenge for citizens. I have never seen such obesity. No wonder the chairs in Century II's Concert Hall need to be replaced.

* * *

Has The Eagle ever considered requiring that some of the opinions submitted to Opinion Line be supported by facts?

It would be nice to have a grateful, happy comment at the end of the Opinion Line every day, so I don't grumble after I'm done reading.
