There are a lot of hardworking people in Wichita who have a good work ethic. Consider for moment how long someone who performed as Barack Obama has would last in an aircraft plant. That person would’ve been gone five years ago.

Obama plays too much golf, but so did Ike and Ford. Obama takes too much vacation, but George W. Bush took more than double. Now, with Clinton it took an act of Congress to keep him away from the Oval Office.

The only criteria for a Democrat to run for president is to be charismatic – no experience is required. Therefore I predict Hillary Clinton will not be the Democrat nominee in 2016.

The old mission of universities was to produce scholars and sense, but it now appears to be just dollars and cents.

The old saying that “the arsonists are manning the fire brigade” has never been more true. Our educational system is horribly broken, yet some say we need to continue to follow those who got us here. Only a fool would fall for the mumbo jumbo coming from the education-union cabal.

Only in a liberal mind is it seen as lost money for the state because Gov. Sam Brownback refused expansion of Medicaid. The money the federal government is giving out to the states was taken from the taxpayers in the first place for more government control and regulation. Great job, Governor.

Kansas seems to have an abundance of people in positions of power who think up grandiose ideas with absolutely no thought as to whether they will work, how much they will cost or who will pay for them. Whatever happened to, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”?

Yes the sun is shining in Kansas. And underneath that blazing 100-degree sun, the state is going broke. I hate to think what it will be like in January when we have to come to terms with the results of the “experiment.”

Governor: Recent graduates aren’t going to stay in Kansas for five years to see if they qualify for one of the 100,000 jobs you are promising over that period.

Since Kansas is already the reddest of the red states, why does the governor also need absolute control over who goes on the state Supreme Court? Does he want to drive all young moderates and liberals out of the state? How is that going to help build the economy?

The citywide sales tax would not be needed if not for the perennial squandering and funneling of taxpayer money to private developer sweet deals. Basic infrastructure (roads, water and sewer), fire protection and safety (police force manning) should always be fully funded first.

You do realize that when they say they want medical marijuana, they mean even for hangnails and splinters, right?

Never having tried marijuana and preaching against it is like trying to describe a book you’ve never read. Or a place you’ve never been to.
