If ISIS members are so proud of their religion and what they are doing, why are they all wearing masks? It reminds me of the Ku Klux Klan.

Watch out, ISIS. President Obama has a pen, a phone and a 7-iron, and he’s not afraid to use them.

If we catch some of these ISIS terrorists, can we submit them to labs for human testing?

Our governor wants to exempt Kansas from overtime and hourly pay rules for workers caring for people with disabilities. I cared for an elderly family member, and it is not an easy task. Why should these caregivers not have the same benefits as any other employee?

Even a fast-food worker on an overnight shift gets minimum wage. Why should a caregiver of the disabled get less? A rate of $36 a night is a lousy $4.50 an hour. Ask the governor if he could live on that. If he’d repeal those stupid tax cuts he could pay for it.

Why does it take so long for the State Board of Healing Arts and Kansas Dental Board to investigate and, if necessary, discipline incompetent or dishonest physicians and dentists? The sole purpose of both boards is to protect the public.

A gentleman attending Yes Wichita’s pro-sales-tax gathering said he was just looking for “facts without the spin.” In today’s political environment, that is almost an impossibility without some very dedicated effort. I wish him luck.

The city is using former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s strategy: “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.” Wichita needs to solve a water shortage problem, so it tacks on economic development and public transit. People surely are smarter that this.

Why do people and the media call it a 1-cent sales tax? It’s 1 percent. Buy a new car and see if it’s 1 cent or $250 extra because of the tax. Stop giving a false impression.

Most of the rhetoric on Ferguson, Mo., misses the main cause. Parents and society have failed to teach respect for others and their property and regard for authority. A classic example is the way members of Congress and media address President Obama. They have no respect for the office.

I suspect the police departments may need the military surplus armaments, especially in light of the economic climate (with the rich getting richer and the rest getting poorer).
