Well, you know what the definition of insanity is: Putting the same politicians back in office and expecting different results. Let me know how that works out for you.

When you start understanding what a politician says, it is time for a mental evaluation.

What did I do or say that made you mad? You called me almost every day, sometimes twice a day. Now I never hear from you. Please forgive me, Mike Pompeo.

County Commissioner Richard Ranzau won his primary? I blame Valley Center.

So County Commission District 5 GOP voters picked a guy who misled on his mailers, proved he doesn’t understand local issues, and legalized guns around our children over a guy with a record of attracting jobs, protecting water and managing a local budget without tax increases. What?

The next time you buy something made in China, thank a union.

The states without an income tax have more population and income growth than the states with very high income taxes. A rising tide lifts all boats. It’s not an instant miracle, but Kansas should stay the course.

When will the Kansas GOP get it through its thick skull that I am not voting for an Obama agenda, but I am voting against the Brownback agenda of bankrupting Kansas and destroying public education?

Is it still called wealth redistribution when taxes are eliminated for small businesses and lowered for the wealthy, and then we make up for it by raising the sales tax?

By an overwhelming 74 percent, Goddard voters had the guts to say “yes” to financing long-term improvements to their community. Let’s hope the voters of Wichita show the same farsightedness come November.

Why do we need to vote on a tax increase for street repair? What happened to the money we had allocated for street repair?

The City Council blew it. I gladly would have voted “yes” for a sales tax to support water, street maintenance and repair, and transit. I will not support a sales tax for new jobs. Add me to the growing list of “no” votes now.

As you buy school supplies for your children, be sure to buy plenty of extras to give to the children of people who think that their responsibility for them ended when they created them.

HIV came from Africa. Now Ebola has been brought here, also from Africa. I don’t care how careful they are – bringing a deadly disease we do not have now is insane. Thank you to the missionaries for what they do, but they also know the risks going in.

If it were your mother, child or spouse infected with Ebola in a foreign country, I would love to hear you tell them, “Sorry, I’m going to let you die there, even though you may get help in the U.S.” Learn how it spreads and stop the fear.
