Is there anybody from the city of Wichita or the state trying to get the Southwest Chief to come through Wichita and jump-start the downtown area? This is the best chance to get Amtrak back through Wichita.

I am glad to see the Affordable Airfares program continue. Now all that’s left is to find a discount carrier to help reduce fares. Southwest is not a discount carrier.

Gov. Sam Brownback and the Kansas Legislature did bring back prayer in the schools. Every day I go to work in my school district I pray I can help meet my students’ increasing needs with a decreasing budget.

Someone said that if Obama had been president during the attack on Pearl Harbor, “we wouldn’t have declared war on Japan until 1947.” If George W. Bush had been president during the attack on Pearl Harbor, we would have invaded Iraq.

What would Jesus say? We know he said to help the poor and infirm and to obey the law, and that would include our immigration laws.

Some want to let the authorization for the Export-Import Bank expire because the government has no business in banking by the rules of free enterprise. But our trading partners in the global economy have no qualms about violating these rules. It is critical that we compete with these nations.

It’s time WSU used some of the on-campus golf course for additional parking.

I am tired of hearing people complain about the parking and now parking permits at Wichita State. There is a shuttle system that operates beautifully. I rode it all last year. This is what other large campuses provide. President John Bardo is trying to bring WSU into the new century.

Why, oh, why can’t there be a vaccine for stupid? Oh, yeah – stupid people would be too stupid to take it.

It’s a good thing cars are getting smarter as people get dumber.

I’m sick of all the comments about everything. Get up, get out, do something, and then after that, whine about it if nothing changes.
