So, I can be charged a fee if my burglar alarm goes off falsely, but a woman can complain about her cheeseburger to 911 and get off scot-free while legitimate calls are on hold? Charge a fee if people call 911 for other than real emergencies. You have their phone numbers.
Here I’ve deluded myself for years thinking the taxes I pay are for maintaining roads, water, public transportation, etc. Now our esteemed leaders need more sales tax revenue since they squandered the other money on their pet projects.
So college tuition and fees are going up again. When is this going to stop? Before long you’ll have no students attending college because they will not be able to afford to go.
I am having a hard time understanding how feeding breakfast and lunch to every student regardless of family income could be a bad thing for Kansas. Aren’t poor children stigmatized enough? Don’t we live in the “heart”-land of America?
There are no free lunches. If there are going to be so-called free meals in the schools, they won’t be free. They will be taxpayer-provided.
The European elm flea weevil needs to get on the same federally protected list as the stupid egrets and herons. Then they can ravage trees and neighborhoods with the full blessing of the U.S. government.
Many congratulations to the Obama administration for attracting thousands of illegal immigrant children to cross our southern border.
Though I feel bad for the trespassing immigrant kids, we do not owe them anything but food, water and a quick return to their homeland. If their mom, dad or homeland doesn’t feel obligated, then why should we? Lock down the border.
I am amazed at the lack of understanding of the Affordable Care Act. Once you sign up for insurance, where are the bureaucrats controlling your health care? They work for the insurance companies, like they always have. The government does not control how the insurance companies ration your care.
I like Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. But she can’t tout Obamacare’s success if millions remain uninsured because the states could opt out of Medicaid expansion, more millions saw health care costs rise or policies canceled, and the rest signed up on pain of penalty. It should have been single-payer or nothing.
Our president proves in action the vetting process for Democrat candidates: no qualifications necessary, no developed skills, no core values of honesty and fair play, no experience, no reliance on truth or facts.
At least one official in Washington, D.C., is smart enough to oppose sending U.S. soldiers off to Iraq again to intervene in the ongoing Sunni and Shiite Islamic holy war. I am glad the rest of the country elected somebody with commonsense, practical leadership, President Obama.
Obama wrongfully took credit for winning the Iraq War. Soon he can take credit for losing Iraq to the Muslim extremists.
