You’d be shocked to hear what your fellow shoppers, store staff and managers would more than like to tell you about the way you allow your undisciplined children to run loose and unsupervised while you shop. Retail stores are not amusement parks for kids.
Someone explain to me how a locally owned fast-food restaurant has a “help wanted” sign in the window when it’s within five miles of four huge west-side high schools. In my day, it would have been turning down applicants all day long.
What GM needs to do is to hire Alan Mulally to straighten it out, as he did Ford.
Rep. Mike Pompeo’s endorsement of the NSA bulk surveillance on U.S. citizens makes me want to give up my electronic tools and just go live in the boonies.
I don’t think we want the Kansas Whining Teachers Association teaching our children if they are ignorant of how the real world works. An employee is called into an office, often with no warning, and fired for no explained reason. Welcome to reality.
If I had children in the public schools, I would get a list of teachers without education degrees and enroll my children in other classes.
Political parties requiring membership so a citizen can vote for its candidates in a governmental primary election should be assessed the cost of the primary election. Such a policy makes the primary a closed party function, not an open governmental primary.
It’s very admirable that church leaders are taking steps to help people get registered to vote, but to suggest that it’s “Jim Crow-ism” or racial discrimination to require photo ID to vote and proof of citizenship for first-time voters is looking for victims where there are none.
Would you believe Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was deathly ill? Would you believe he served with distinction? Would you believe he was not a deserter? Would you believe he was worth exchanging for five terrorists? Would you ever believe President Obama? Get smart.
Even if Bergdahl is a deserter, or broke the law somehow, isn’t five years of torture in a Taliban prison punishment enough? He’s paid his debt. And leave the parents alone. They did nothing.
I would rather have my tax dollars spent on feeding hungry children in the summer versus financing a war that is senseless.
They don’t build casinos off of the backs of winners.
