The people complaining about Riverfest are just jealous that since new management took over the event is extremely successful. Soon they will jump on the bandwagon – $5 for a button, nine days of entertainment.
If a major outdoor event cannot get recycling for food and drink containers, it should not proceed. Shame on Riverfest 2014 for trashing the environment while celebrating our beautiful city.
We should just move Riverfest back to the first week of May. We will get rain earlier that way.
It is perfectly understandable that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl would meet national security adviser Susan Rice’s standards for honor and distinction.
I can’t believe that people think the prison swap for Bergdahl was good. It gave the Taliban the insight that they can capture other Americans (we still have soldiers over there).
We should have swapped Obama for Bergdahl. That would have been a good deal.
Hailey, Idaho, wanted to welcome home a POW who had been gone for five years. However, this life-affirming event was canceled because of some who foster anger and hatred. What a sad commentary on how far from common decency we have fallen.
Why didn’t Obama offer to trade any quantity of the Mexican national criminals in our jails for Mexican-held Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi?
Perhaps if Pat Roberts actually lived in Kansas he would have been aware of problems at the VA hospitals.
Kansas politicians who oppose Medicaid expansion need to keep their hypocritical mouths shut about the VA until they act to achieve health care for any and all citizens in need of it.
The problem at the VA is with the patients wanting appointments for anything and everything and getting them, which causes others to have to wait longer for truly needed appointments. This is a long-standing problem.
My dad went to the VA in Hays and Wichita and never received better care anywhere. They treated him with much dignity and respect.
If only Ike were still with us. I’d like to be a Republican again.
Dear bicyclists: Try following the same rules that drivers must follow. Quit running red lights and stop signs, and weaving in and out of traffic. You are your own worst enemy on the roadways.
Note to all the women on Facebook: No one wants to see pictures of your pedicure.
