A coalition of racists, xenophobes, misogynists, gay bashers, corporate fat cats, religious fundamentalists, gun lovers, misanthropes, nature despoilers, Fox News viewers, climate-change deniers, robber barons, warmongers, petroleum addicts, tea party tax protesters, cranky old coots and others are ruining a Kansas even Norman Rockwell would have liked.
Will the Wichita school district please work quickly and meet the deadline, so our kids can have the new free lunch and breakfast? We are counting on you.
I applaud the young ladies’ willingness to speak out (“2 girls suspended from East over protest fliers,” May 10 Eagle). However, vulgarities and clothing choices have a time and place. And, yes, men are more visually stimulated than women. It’s biological, whether we like it or not. It’s not going to change.
What can be said about someone who makes light of four U.S. citizens being murdered in Benghazi and denies the truth that current and former people in our federal government are guilty of complicity in those murders?
George W. Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction and 4,000 American soldiers died. Benghazi is a drop in the bucket.
When our embassies were attacked in the past, the presidents didn’t cover it up. They didn’t lie to the American people. The current president said the war on terror was over; then our consulate was attacked on the anniversary of Sept. 11. The president and the secretary of state lied to you because of an election coming up. They lied to win.

It took FDR 10 years and a world war to resurrect the American economy. Obama is into his sixth year of economic revival using similar policies. Hopefully, it won’t take a world war for Obama to finish the job.
A letter writer said young people don’t pay any attention to Charles Krauthammer. This is a classic example of what’s wrong with their generation. They are unwilling to learn.
The highest average price for gas in the U.S. was $4.12 per gallon in July 2008, before Obama. How soon we forget.
Do you suppose Bush will be blamed for the drop in the water level in the Ogallala?
I can attest to the VA system being broken. It has been almost two years of back-and-forth paperwork trying to get a WWII parent their benefits with no results yet. I feel sorry for current veterans needing help.
Note to Donald Sterling and everybody else: When the questions are leading, don’t be following.
