All these people who think they will be so safe don’t realize that they might as well have a bull’s-eye on their back. Anyone who wants to get their gun will have no problem walking up behind them and taking it.

It was bound to happen: The liberal media are trying to discredit American hero Cliven Bundy, and are now twisting his words and taking them out of context to paint him as a racist. The American left is pathetic.

The state has a looming budget crisis. There is every reason to believe that when the state controls Medicare it will raid those funds to shore up the budget. When that happens I will have to move to another state where those benefits are fully available. I have no choice in the matter.

My dad had a word for a statement that was half-true, Governor. He called it a lie.

Simple – if you want to lose your Medicare, make sure to vote for a Republican this fall.

Charter schools succeed at improving student performance. So why are there no independent charter schools in the Republican-controlled state of Kansas?

I was so pleased to see that East High was recognized as a great Kansas school, then saddened to learn that Kansas is ranked 47th in the USA. This is exactly what happens when we cut and cut and cut our schools’ budgets. Vote for Paul Davis.

When teachers lose due process, every principal’s, superintendent’s and school board member’s kid will become a starter on the school’s athletic teams. Teacher-coaches will lose their teaching jobs for not starting those kids. Yeah, that’s fair.

Remember when Obamacare was rushed through the Congress and Nancy Pelosi said “we have to pass it, then read it”? Well, Brownback and company passed the school-funding bill. Now you can read it.

Why do people put faith in government when it does so few things well? Obamacare is based on the weak foundation that government can do something that is efficient and cost-effective. Obamacare is the wizard behind the curtain but without the glimmer of Oz to back it up.

I celebrated Earth Day by chopping down lots of nuisance trees in my yard.

While my gas-powered car might make a teeny bit more noise, twice a day, than your electric car, your wind chimes bang and clang around the clock. Additionally, your precious car is just as dependent on fossil fuel as mine. Guess what burns to generate the electricity to charge your batteries?

I don’t have kids. I don’t have dogs. I don’t use leaf blowers. I know what state I live in. I have a life. I’m intelligent enough to know the rudeness exhibited by people who intentionally hang random noisemakers out to disturb the peace.

Wind chimes I can tolerate. Obnoxious people I can’t.
