The current design of the Eisenhower memorial in Washington, D.C., is either ostentatious or obscene. I cannot decide which. No wonder the Eisenhower family has rejected that design.

Millions of people now have health insurance who didn’t have it before, and Obama-obsessed conservatives just can’t stand that.

While President Obama said, “If you like your health care…,” the Republicans were saying, “If you don’t like needing health care, you can go on needing health care.”

Should people even be allowed to get health insurance who are so lacking in intelligence that they wait until less than 24 hours before the deadline to begin to attempt to sign up – which, of course, does not mean they are even close to actually having insurance?

The inner cities are bankrupt, violent and squalid, and controlled by Democrats for some 60 years. Inner-city school districts are failures managed by Democrats and labor unions. Government social services are tragic failures, mostly managed by Democrats. Now you want to trust your health care to this same bunch?

Someone said recently that the national Republican Party has simply become the moderate wing of the Democrat Party. Sadly, this observation is accurate.

President Obama has directed the Department of Labor to make more workers eligible for overtime pay. As our economy continues to wallow in the mire, our president makes a grand pronouncement that has profound negative consequences.

It will be nice when the war with Russia gets over and the price of gas can get back down.

Did you know that when our state Legislature adjourns and goes home, the intelligence level of Topeka rises by at least 10 percent?

Please quit referring to our Republican legislators as clowns. They’re sheep, doing whatever AFP and ALEC want. Baa, baa, baa.

Yes, I remember learning in school about how our democratic society was designed to vote, and if you win the vote, you can hold another vote to keep anyone else from voting. We are a shining example.

Religious freedom does not mean you are free to dictate my beliefs.

Let’s just pay every worker the same amount for work, be it a movie star or custodian. Why should someone be paid millions of dollars such as actors, sport players, etc.?

Jesus said in Matthew 24:7, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.” Doesn’t mention fracking.

I have noticed that everything for the military is for active military only. What about those who have served and have retired? They get nothing. Our country is free because of active and retired and wounded military people. Yet businesses only care about the active ones.
