What famous child star who made movies in the ’30s and ’40s recently died? What Hollywood actor just died with a needle in his arm? How many of our armed forces died in Afghanistan last week? Pakistan? Iraq? Yemen? How many answers did you get right? You flunked.
If the U.S. Postal Service takes many more Mondays off for irrelevant holidays, we are going to end up with five-day service whether we like it or not.
Another hothead in Florida shoots and kills a teenager, but this guy has no scratches on his head to claim self-defense.
I carry a gun every day to protect me and my family, despite possible legal ramifications. I don’t plan on being a hero and I seriously doubt I will use my gun to protect you, your family or your property. You’re on your own.
In his State of the Union speech, President Obama declared war on us – our government by the people, of the people and for the people – yet no alarms are sounding, no air raid sirens, nothing. Evil happens when good men say nothing.
Problem: Health insurance is expensive. Solution: Make it more expensive and then tax people for not buying it.

I think the Kansas legislators must be getting pretty dizzy from all the spinning they are doing regarding why they voted for House Bill 2453.
The Kansas House has officially “jumped the shark.” I rarely vote for Democrats, but the ultraconservatives in the Legislature and governor’s office have become “incompatible” with me.
How encouraging it is to me as an elder to read of the youths who are concerned with political actions within the state and are becoming involved.
Politicians say you need to listen to a “thoughtful review of the facts.” What they really mean you need to roll over and just do what they say.
Wichita TV news shows are worthless because of all the self-promotion and not giving you full details unless you watch a future news show. They really are shows and not news programs.
Finally, someone else has brought up the way people put a bow on their baby’s head and think it’s so cute. How ridiculous this makes those children look. How beautiful the babies are and you go and put a bow on their head like a present.
