For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. We do not have an elite ruling class that is above the law. I truly don’t care if they are Democrat, Republican or independent – the self-serving must stop.
Reagan, the elder Bush and Clinton all governed effectively despite having one or both houses of Congress dominated by the opposing party during much of their administrations. President Obama evidently can’t figure this out, so he just whines that nobody will play by his rules.
Definition of hypocrisy – the Hollywood actors walking down the red carpet expressing their concern for income inequality, then going home to their multimillion-dollar homes. Give me a break.

My old box of laundry detergent was labeled “35 percent more” and promised to do 130 loads. My new box says “50 percent more” but promises to do only 120 loads. The boxes are otherwise identical in size. Reminds me of my same-sized job with its new downsized salary and benefits.
By running for secretary of state, Jean Schodorf has given Kansans a clear path to preserving the vote for all eligible Kansans. Kris Kobach is managing to prevent 20,000 legitimate Kansans from voting. If he is re-elected, what is next?

Madonna drops the N-word and claims it’s a term of endearment – barely a peep from the media. Paula Deen is almost ruined for admitting to saying it years ago. Talk about your double standards.
The FBI finally arrested five men for the huge Lufthansa heist more than 35 years ago. What, did they finally get around to watching “Goodfellas”?
Dear media: I don’t need to hear any more about Justin Bieber.
Now with professional football winding down, maybe some of the players will have time to get haircuts.
