Why people like George Zimmerman and O.J. Simpson, who arguably have escaped their just deserts, don’t have the smarts to thank their lucky stars they’re free and then go home and live quiet lives is dumbfounding.
Underperforming schools promote mediocrity. Should we not encourage excellence in public school education?
Let’s not spend money changing the name of the airport. If we do, some pilots may make a mistake and land at the wrong one. We need other things more than a new name for the airport.
Why are they building a new terminal at Wichita Mid-Continent Airport? Jabara Airport is where the big airplanes land. They should rebuild Jabara.
Let’s call the new airport the Bill Snyder Family Airport. It pretends to be McConnell but is really just Jabara.
“NTSB to investigate Dreamlifter.” I can save you six months. Pilot error. Period.
I will not vote for a citywide sales tax for various projects as long as they’re considering spending a boatload of money renaming the airport. That’s just silly. Does anyone really think that a person landing in Wichita cares what the name of the airport is?
As the city’s community police officers spend so much time attending useless meetings, let’s put them on the streets catching drivers who run red lights, etc.
Not only are police officers disinterested in enforcing traffic laws, many violate traffic laws themselves. The Wichita-Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center needs to teach student officers to be law-abiding at all times. Those of us who pay the salaries of police officers are watching.
Congratulations are in store for Mulvane High School for being in session on Veterans Day and having veterans talk to the students. I hope this starts a trend for our younger generation that usually spends this day at a mall.
Difference between Democrats and Republicans: The Republicans want to cut billions from the food stamp program affecting the working poor. The Democrats want to cut subsidies to farmers that pay them not to plant anything.
Whether a candidate is honest and trustworthy should have been realized before the vote was cast, not five years later.
John Kerry will long be remembered for the signing of the paper with Iran, like Neville Chamberlain appeasing Hitler.
It is unbelievable that we have reached a deal to increase humanitarian aid to Iran while three American citizens continue to be held in their deplorable prisons, including pastor Saeed Abedini. Any “deal” should have included their release.
Gov. Sam Brownback said his tax scheme would act like an adrenaline shot to the heart of the economy. So far it looks like he has shot us all in our collective feet.
