Hooray for those who say their health insurance premium is going down. Ask a senior citizen how much their Medigap and Medicare D premiums are going up. The elderly who can least afford it are going to be paying through the nose for their care.


Amazing that President Obama thinks a $17 trillion debt is a partisan fake crisis. Heaven help us when a real crisis comes along.


Obama needs to heed his own snarky call for civility and quit going on TV and placing degrading labels on everyone who disagrees with him. Leadership starts with example, Mr. President. Winning the election did not make you king.


Some Republicans are calling for the resignation of Kathleen Sebelius for the poor online enrollment rollout of the Affordable Care Act. Fair enough. I call for the resignation of the 144 House Republicans who voted to default on the full faith and credit of the United States.


Remember, Kansas – 162 elected representatives voted to go over the cliff and create super problems. Four of them were elected by you.


The government shuts down and the sun still rises and the private sector continues to work and the market rises. It helped me remember this is a government for the people, not over the people. When you shut down inefficiency, things get better. Who knew?


The Republican Party without its conservative base is a loser. Just ask Mitt Romney, John McCain and George H.W. Bush.


The approval rating for the Republican Party is at an all-time low. Save the GOP. Kick out the libertarians.


It has come to my attention that a number of our concealed-carry folks are not familiar with the definition of “concealed.”


In his zeal to chastise women for their increasing “promiscuity” (Oct. 16 Opinion), columnist Cal Thomas conveniently ignores the reality that without promiscuous men there would be no promiscuous women.


Why is it that when the rich donate money to build a new building or park, they want their name plastered all over it, but when they donate large amounts of money to a political candidate, they want their name kept secret?


I am tired of having police and fire vehicles go over the posted speed limits and pass me, with no lights flashing or sirens. Chiefs: Speak to your personnel about abiding by the laws, just like the general populace is supposed to do.
