The KCC should change its name to the Westar Corporation Commission. If rate hikes continue as they have, it won’t be too long before everyone’s paycheck will need to be direct-deposited to Westar.
I find it a bit ironic that we experienced a power outage the same day Westar Energy’s rate-hike settlement was announced.
Maybe it’s just as well that Boeing didn’t win the South Korea fighter jet contract. Had Boeing won, it likely would have closed another facility. Closing St. Louis anyway isn’t a bad idea.
Those of you who do not have health insurance now have an opportunity to get it. If you refuse, then you are a freeloader stealing from the rest of us – as usual.
Health insurance companies are going to raise premiums and businesses are going to cut hours no matter what. The Affordable Care Act is just an excuse. Don’t buy their propaganda.
If Kansas hospitals think they are having a hard time receiving Medicaid payments now, just wait until they try to collect from Obamacare. Then they will realize they didn’t have it so bad after all.
If President Obama, Bill Clinton or anyone in the federal government wants to speak in favor of Obamacare and be believable, they first need to publicly surrender their exemption from it.
Obamacare is actually a Republican idea. Let’s rename it Romneycare, which it is. Then let’s accept it and get on with our lives.
The only thing wrong with Obamacare is that it doesn’t go far enough.
The new Iranian president, Hasan Rouhani, has admitted that the Holocaust actually happened. I wonder if the sun will rise in the west tomorrow. That is 180 degrees from his predecessor.
It’s clear that there are many Muslim terrorists in the world. Where are the Christian terrorists? Are there many more Muslim terrorists than Christian terrorists because Islam encourages its believers to be killers and Christianity doesn’t? Can someone explain what Muslim terrorists think they accomplish with their acts?
The terrorist attack in Kenya is horrifying. Decent people must wonder what kind of people could do such a thing. But what needs to be understood is how intelligent, decent, kind, religious, caring people can come to believe that doing something they know is horrifying is nevertheless their duty.
