The Miss Kansas contestant with tattoos confirmed that beauty and brains don’t always go together. I expected her to put fishhooks in her face and rap in the talent competition. Whatever happened to class?
With “Good Morning America” and now the “Today” show sliding into increasingly sophomoric entertainment programming, I’m hoping that “CBS This Morning” can hold the line on intelligent reporting. The dumbing down of Americans marches on.
The National Rifle Association has filed a brief supporting the American Civil Liberties Union’s challenge of the government phone-tracking program. Strange bedfellows.
When one attains the highest office of the land and has done nothing to merit the honor, arrogance is unavoidable.
George W. Bush’s administration ignored warnings that Osama bin Laden was determined to attack the U.S., and more than 3,000 people died as a result. Remember that the next time you hear complaints about Obama and Benghazi and Sept. 11.

A visitor from Missouri praised our own Eagle for not publishing “liberal hogwash” (Sept. 14 Letters to the Editor). I hope all you conservatives who constantly whine about The Eagle’s bias toward liberalism had your reading glasses on and paid attention.
Thank you for Charles Krauthammer’s commentary (Sept. 14 Opinion). Keep it up.
I frequently watch Fox News on television, and nothing tickles me more than to hear a Fox News contributor disagree with the misleading remarks of the Fox News commentator .
Dear Eagle: Enough already with the half-front pages.
