I predict that 10 years from now, the Wichita City Council will be looking at plans for the library and still have done nothing. Maybe we could put everything in the back of pickup trucks and drive around town.
Consider turning the Southeast High School building into the main city library. Plenty of room and free parking.
Why don’t we have a user-pay library? That’s how they started out under Benjamin Franklin. I don’t want to pay for a book museum.
It will be heartbreaking for Wichita if our Sedgwick County commissioners ignore the needs of our great zoo. I suppose they could use the elephants’ pen to house jackasses and hyenas.
Make zoo concessions and the gift shop more affordable, and people will pay for more than just entrance fees. Nearly $100 for a family day at the zoo is too much.
Food-stamp participation would decrease if not for all these “single” mothers with lots of kids and no daddies claiming the kids. Let’s put these deadbeat daddies on the hook instead of Uncle Sugar.
I don’t see much difference in poor people cheating to get food stamps and wealthy people hiding their millions offshore in order to cheat on paying taxes. A cheat is a cheat.
My neighbor of 12 years has a new boat, motorcycle, three cars, new pickup – all with Oklahoma registrations. God bless Kansas property taxes.
Why hasn’t the Democratic Party set up a help line for those disenfranchised by the proof-of-citizenship requirement? Document research, transportation and legal forms can be made available. It would appear that more hay can be made by editorializing about the problem than by resolving it.
Look at what we pay our government and what we receive from our government. Maybe we should be happy we don’t get all the government we pay for.
Why can’t NATO handle the problems in Syria?
Sen. Jerry Moran and anyone else against U.S. engagement in Syria apparently are fine with children being killed by chemical weapons. You make me sick.
The Wingnuts will return home Friday for game 3 of the American Association championship series. Let’s fill the stadium for this fantastic team.
