One problem with having a “Christian” nation is that there are myriad ways mortal man defines what is Christian.

Gasoline prices are a reason the economy is slowing down considerably. When gasoline prices reach the level they are, consumers have to cut back somewhere. Gas prices not only affect what you put in your car’s tank, but what you buy at the grocery store and everywhere else.

I have a question to those of you who support Obamacare because you don’t like insurance companies: Are you sure that a health care system run by the IRS is a better option?

Just once I would like for Leonard Pitts to write some negative thoughts about the Democrats. He is always bashing the Republicans. Let’s have a little fairness and balance. Otherwise, The Eagle should keep his columns out.

I know I’m stating the obvious, but based on accomplishments, the Democratic Party might possibly be the greatest force for the destruction of the greatest country in the world. Can we survive a party that believes everything is free?

This whole ridiculous media circus surrounding the Martin-Zimmerman case was a diversion to distract citizens from the continuing lies, scandals, misuse of power, trampling of the Constitution, wild spending, expensive vacations, etc., of their darling socialist president. I wasn’t fooled.

Americans sure acted more civil when O. J. Simpson was acquitted.

I fully understand the feelings and frustration of the crowds protesting the George Zimmerman verdict. I felt similarly when O.J. Simpson was acquitted, but my responses were quite different.

Since O. J. Simpson and Casey Anthony were found “not guilty,” why aren’t the authorities looking for the real killers? At least we all know what George Zimmerman did.

Where do these claims come from about Trayvon Martin minding his own business? There’s no evidence to prove that. We don’t know that at all.

It appears the only safe way for a black kid to walk down a sidewalk without being thought a suspect is to skip down the sidewalk like Pee-wee Herman.

A 17-year-old is a child? I was probably as strong as I’ve ever been when I was 17.

The bottom line is that George Zimmerman caused the death of Trayvon Martin by seeking a confrontation and firing a gun. There’s no doubt in my mind that if the situation were reversed and Martin was the aggressor, he would have been found guilty.

It is sad that the Justice Department under Attorney General Eric Holder finds it acceptable to selectively target some people and decline to investigate others in what seem like politically based decisions. American citizens deserve better.

First it was the Casey Anthony trial, then the Paula Deen fiasco and, last but not least, the Zimmerman trial. Next.
