OK, so Barack Obama is not Abraham Lincoln, but both have done what they sincerely believed was best for our country. Both deserve our respect and admiration for that.
Methinks the failure and shenanigans of the present administration at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. are not, as many are apt conclude, due to bumbling and fumbling of the president and his staff, but rather gremlins. Yes, gremlins. And Bush and the tea party placed them there.
If the president wants to unite this country and start an economic storm, all he has to do is pull back on Obamacare. Things will really get going then.
President Obama should create a new bureau within the Department of Education. It should be called the Institute for National Education Proficiency Training to Increase Tolerance and Understanding of Democracy and Equality. Its acronym would be INEPTITUDE.
Now let me get this straight: You must be a high school graduate to serve in the U.S. armed forces, but the National Security Agency, one of our primary intelligence-gathering agencies, has no problem with contractors it hires being high school dropouts?
The U.S. is most definitely doing the immigration thing wrong. Instead of allowing millions to break and enter the U.S., only for U.S. taxpayers to have to support them, tax the heck out of the “immigrants” and let them support U.S. citizens.
Someone leaked information about how lax Pakistan was in tracking Osama bin Laden. Maybe we need to offer sanctuary to the person who leaked that story. Don’t we have a right to know when an allied government does something wrong?
Has anyone bothered to research why Nelson Mandela was put in prison in the first place?
I am a gun owner and no longer a member of the NRA. Our law enforcement officers put their lives in danger every day to protect us all. Assault weapons are an assault on us all.
I would like to know how many of the fireworks calls to the nonemergency line were answered and how many tickets were issued on fireworks.
I see that energy drink you just finished gives you just enough energy to throw the container out of your vehicle window into the street or onto someone else’s property. It must not be what it claims to be.
In the Sunday Eagle, editorial cartoonist Richard Crowson spoke well of Carl Sebits and Velma Wallace for their generosity, respectively, to Friends University and Wichita State University. Crowson says something positive? There now – that wasn’t hard, was it?
