So Wichita City Council members don’t trust us state-vetted, law-abiding citizens to carry concealed firearms in city government buildings? That figures. The council members rarely give us much reason to trust them either.
Local implementation of the new state gun laws is a nonissue. If local government cannot provide for my safety in government buildings by installing metal detectors, then I should be allowed to conceal-carry and provide for my own protection.
I don’t think there is a need for guns in schools. I also don’t think there should be a board or group of six or seven people deciding which constitutional right I am allowed to have today.
Kansas has not had such a poor excuse for a governor as Sam Brownback since the days of Robert Bennett and Joan Finney.
Hearing our governor brag about how he has cut taxes when he is doing so by cutting basic funding for schools and colleges is like hearing a deadbeat dad brag about how he is saving money by not paying child support.
The “glide path to zero” is littered with all sorts of workingmen’s bodies.
The money it’s going to cost to defend Kansas’ proof-of-citizenship law should all come out of Kris Kobach’s pocket.
Great – now our foreign policy includes negotiating with men who shoot schoolgirls in the head, while we arm Syrian opposition fighters who’ll cut the heart out of an enemy and eat it on camera. Some classy guys we’re dealing with.
Opposed to drones? If Bashar Assad had been killed by a drone, more than 90,000 Syrians would have been saved. How many more Syrians will be killed before Assad is no longer dictator of Syria (thanks to the Russians and the Iranians)?
Republicans: If you don’t want to see Hillary Clinton become our next president, then give us something significantly better than John McCain or Mitt Romney.
A letter writer said Republicans don’t like Obama “simply because he is African-American.” Wrong. We don’t like him because he is a socialist and a congenital prevaricator, and his stated agenda (in “Dreams From My Father”) is to weaken rather than strengthen America on the world stage.
The American Medical Association has declared obesity a disease. I am calling in fat – I mean sick – tomorrow.
