The abusive actions by the IRS probably have killed any further efforts on gun control, and with good reason. This type of governmental abuse reinforces the wisdom of keeping government out of this area.


President Obama said he’s going to get to the bottom of his IRS scandal and hold people responsible. The reason he’s not saying the same about the Benghazi scandal is because he’s the one who should be fired.


As long as we have cars there will be accidents, and we don’t report on all accidents. As long as we have guns there will be shootings. Why do we report on all of them?


What we really need in Washington – more women. They are willing to listen and compromise. Vote out all those old white males who have been there much too long.


The May 5 commentary by WSU professor H. Edward Flentje was excellent and deserves a response from Rep. Tim Huelskamp. Does he want to do away with the federal farm program? And what is the governor’s position?


Senior citizens: A bill to increase homestead property-tax rebates for low-income homeowners from $700 to $1,200 passed the Kansas Senate but is stalled in the House. Petition your state representatives to support it.


Our older neighborhood communities deserve respect, protection and preservation. Many of the residents are second- and third-generation families in inherited homes. The neighborhoods are cities within cities with schools, parks, banks, grocery stores, etc. Keep our Southeast High School where it is, in the heart of its community.


Daylight or dark, it is stealing to help yourself to plantings, rocks, etc., from city parks, or from people’s yards without permission.


Why is smoking being allowed in some bars and grills when it is against the law and secondhand smoke is known to be deadly?


Wichita media: Please stop reporting that the price of gas is expected to be lower for the summer. Every time you do, the price goes up.


How much longer will southbound I-135 near Central be without a sign to replace the one damaged during snow removal? An unmarked exit confuses drivers.


God bless the Patriot Guard. Its members stood guard over our airman’s funeral on Friday. They brought an immeasurable depth of comfort to our family. Their service to our veterans is greatly appreciated by many families.
