It is way past time to restore two-lane traffic in front of the old Eaton Hotel in downtown Wichita. It’s amazing some bureaucrat has managed to single-handedly maintain this bottleneck for years. Come on, City Council, show some leadership.
Sorry, people. The safety of the letter carrier should be more important than your mail. Start calling animal control every time you see any unleashed dog on your block. It should only take one time for the dog owner to get a clue.
A dog stops the U.S. Postal Service from delivering mail? Where is Wichita animal control? Another example of overpaid government workers not doing their jobs.
Scammers cash a woman’s check within minutes, and I have to wait to cash a check from my brother because he missed the correct date by two days. Some real front-line defense from fraud by the banking system. Accommodate scammers and hassle honest customers.
I’m waiting now to see how Gov. Sam Brownback is going to replace jurors with his yes-men.
The state of Kansas’ motto should be: “If you can see it, smell it, taste it or feel it, we will tax it.”
When the most important issue to anyone is homosexuals getting hitched, well, you know the apocalypse is nearing.
There is a little thing called separation of church and state. Your Bible doesn’t make the laws. If you don’t believe in same-sex marriage, then don’t get married to someone of your sex. But you have no right to deny others their rights because you read it in a book.
Many European marriages are civil, with religious ceremonies optional to the families. Does our Constitution define that marriage be based on religious belief, or is it silent?
Welcome back, Boat-tailed grackles, to the big box store and mall parking lots. You keep my grille free of all the bugs and grasshoppers and other assorted vermin. I hereby dub thee “Parking Jays.”
What has happened to the English language? Do we really need to use the word “basically” in each and every sentence? Is there any word more annoying?
Anyone who is observant and has a modicum of intelligence doesn’t have to look very far to verify the dumbing down of the populace. One has to look no further than the push-button start on the new vehicles. People are no longer smart enough to turn a key.
