One must wonder about Opinion Line contributors. If ignorance is bliss, they must be extremely happy.

Time to change the name from Opinion Line to Whine Line.

This issue of drug testing is ridiculous. And a violation of privacy.

Gov. Sam Brownback has done it again. His plan to pay universities for fostering startups is a great program. Of course, $2,000 to $5,000 wouldn’t keep Cedar Crest in toilet paper for a year, with all the social gatherings.

The first 535 furloughs should be given to all of the members of Congress until the budget mess is cleaned up.

Only our government would propose something as dumb as the sequester, saying the cuts would never happen. Then it let them happen. These people would not make it one day in the real world.

President Obama is needlessly using scare tactics about sequestration (a Democratic idea, by the way). If it happens, the annual budget will be cut 2.5 percent. The net effect: The government will still have more money to spend than last year. So what’s the big deal?

After the sequester goes through and all the gloom-and-doom warnings by Obama turn out to be hot air, I can’t wait for the president to claim it was his “herculean” efforts that saved the middle class. Of course, afterward he’ll be so exhausted he’ll need to go on another vacation.

The Obamas are overexposed. I watch the channel that shows country-music videos late at night. One reason is that I don’t expect to see politicians, actors, celebrities, media types and other annoying people on that channel. Sure enough, I’ve encountered both Obamas doing some sort of public service lecture.

I have noticed over the years that whatever a Republican president does is great – he is a hero. But if a Democratic president does the very same thing, he is a criminal.

“Zero Dark Thirty” is just another failed example that Obama isn’t at all connected with the needs of our citizens. No awards for that flop.

Every crime that will be committed by the 500 criminals released by Obama therefore will be Obama’s fault. Uninformed voters voted for this guy.

The president isn’t perfect, but even if he were – even if he could walk on water – there are those who would still find fault with him.

Justice Antonin Scalia has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is an avowed racist. He should be removed from office immediately.

A great big “thank you” to the street crews for the snow cleanup. Job well-done. Much appreciated.
