Other states have increased their income taxes to freely fund their schools and culture. Why must Kansans be portrayed as Scrooge, stealing money from the kids? I would rather pay my income tax instead of having property-tax increases. Gov. Sam Brownback’s figures do not compute to a balanced budget.
State Rep. Virgil Peck soon will celebrate the second anniversary of his famous comment about shooting from helicopters at illegal immigrants as well as feral hogs. He needs to work for the Kansas Chamber of Commerce. I plan on drinking a Corona and eating a big bean burrito in his honor.
Republican congressmen are willing to let the sequester wreak havoc on hungry children, the homeless, the economy and the entire nation. Their families are guaranteed health care and ample incomes for life. They are disgusting, infantile sore losers.
I vote that we sequester the Congress and the president until they have a permanent solution for the sequester. I’ll be their cook. One of the few meals I do well is ham and beans. I could keep it coming until they have a solution. No Beano allowed. Think it might work?
Dependency can be just another name for slavery. Obama’s policies are centered on dependency so he can show his power. Freedom is not owing anyone for anything, and being in charge of your own life.
I see that Janet Napolitano, the secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, is griping about spending cuts. Poor baby – DHS may not be able to buy all the hollow-point bullets that the Internet says it is buying.
Anyone with an Obama bumper sticker can call the government for snow help, as they do for everything else.
As I was shoveling snow Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. with my sunglasses on, a weatherman made this statement: “Wichita remains under a winter-storm warning until 12 p.m.” No common sense. Must be a Republican.
Is there no editorial discretion on snow closings for the tickers on the three news channels? Do the Inman Senior Center and Goessel Library, etc., really need to be on the ticker?
I just want to thank all the snow crews that did such a good job clearing the streets. They even got around to plowing my street once. That was the first time in the 40 years that I have lived on my block. It made a big difference.
Way to go, Michael Schwanke. The “CBS Evening News With Scott Pelley” – good job.
Hooray – referees win the Big 12 Conference.
Dennis Rodman traveled to North Korea. Why do I not find that strange?
