The Federal Reserve is run by bankers and is in no way connected to the U.S. government. So why do we have a Treasury that sits by while the Federal Reserve prints out taxpayers’ money to bail out foreign banks? And Congress does nothing about it.

To our congressional “leaders”: Grow up and go to work.

Before passing legislation to require WSU to play KU and KSU in men’s basketball every year, consider that, at the least, two additional guaranteed losses to the three schools involved would occur each and every year. One of the three currently doesn’t go to the big dance on a regular basis as it stands now.

Our state government is creating problems where there were none, or you could compare it to children trying to change the rules in the middle of the game. It seems to be revenge – a way out of responsibility. I’ve heard several teachers comment that the union PAC contribution is not a forced deduction from their paychecks.

To those on the left unhappy with our governor: I’d say he appears to be taking Obama lessons – “what you want be damned. I’m going to do what I want, when I want to do it.”

In the debate over abortion rights, there is one fact both sides should agree on: The unborn did just fine for thousands of years before Kansans for Life was formed.

I would be more inclined to take seriously the position of those attempting to circumvent the contraceptive provisions of the Affordable Care Act based on conscientious objections if they had not harbored child molesters until they were legally forced to stop. Talk about swallowing camels and straining gnats.

People from Mexico are hogging all the immigration numbers. Shouldn’t we limit the number of people coming from Mexico to allow other countries’ people to settle here, too?

I never realized it until I grew up and started to pay attention that no matter what you do or say, someone is going to gripe about it.

Yes, 1.3 million have died in gun incidents since 1960. However, more than 2.2 million have died in car accidents since 1960. Should we ban the automobile or maybe the wheel?

There are few Opinion Line comments and letters to the editor about climate change, bad water, air quality, etc. – about the fact that in 200 years this world will be uninhabitable due to bad air and water. No one will be able to live on Earth. People aren’t concerned about that.
