Drug testing welfare and unemployment benefit recipients is a great idea. Let’s test Social Security and Medicare recipients. Why single out one group of people? Let’s randomly test all government employees and politicians for drugs and alcohol in the workplace. Good for the goose, good for the gander.

Has anybody else noticed that since Sam Brownback was elected governor, Kansas has had very little rain and has been in a severe drought condition? Think about it.

I agree with Jean Schodorf. Today’s Republican Party has abandoned the principles that have made our country great. I’m switching to the Democratic Party, too.

Assault weapons are already banned. None of the assault rifles used in the recent mass killings was a fully automatic assault rifle. The media blitz for a ban on “assault weapons” serves no purpose other than to create the false impression that they are readily available to the public.

If the Founding Fathers intended to allow citizens to bear arms for the purpose of overthrowing the federal government, why did they make treason a crime punishable by death? Instead, the Second Amendment was intended to ensure that state militias could continue to draft well-armed citizen soldiers to defend the government against enemies of the state.

Hillary Clinton obviously didn’t set up the State Department so it could be operated properly. Three months of warnings from Benghazi, and she didn’t see any of them? Baloney.

President Obama spouted pie-in-the-sky dreams at his swearing-in speech. He didn’t do anything for four years. What makes you think this will be a different four years? We are so much worse off today.

To save money, let’s cut all the media personnel hired by politicians to make the politicians look good.

Give us a term limit amendment for every elected office, but especially for congressional ones.

I understand Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a federal holiday. But what about Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, marking the beginning of World War II? Why isn’t it a federal holiday?
