The Nazis couldn’t destroy us. Japan couldn’t. The USSR couldn’t. Our destruction will come from within, by a Congress addicted to spending money we do not have and a society that has no boundaries and accepts no sacrifices. Anything goes.
With the fiscal-cliff bill passing, a year from now our country will be in worse shape than ever. The people who work for the government should be ashamed.
It will have cost nearly $8 million to fly Air Force One round-trip from Washington, D.C., to Hawaii twice for Obama’s Christmas vacation. Has he no shame as millions of taxpayers are told to tighten their belts for the budget cuts?
So we may be arming our schoolteachers. What’s next? Guns for nuns?
Guns don’t kill people; bullets kill people. Let people own guns, and put a high tax on the cost of bullets.
Cain killed Abel and did not use an assault rifle. Do you really think another ban will change human nature?
If we taught the students in jails, they would be safe. Then use the school buildings to rehabilitate the inmates. What could possibly go wrong?
It would be a great idea to have a police officer in every school. Police officers can provide schools with insights into safety and security matters in general, and provide kids with a positive community relations experience with law enforcement that isn’t fostered in many families these days.
Put armed security guards in schools. Have parents of schoolchildren pay for it. User fees – the only way to go.
Gov. Sam Brownback said he would rather talk about mental health than gun control. So, he wants no discussion of gun control and all he wants to do in the area of mental health is talk.
Instead of spending good money to bring in discredited economist Arthur Laffer, our Legislature should have brought in Bill Clinton to explain arithmetic.
Do you know what happens when you rely on the small percentage of thinkers and doers to pay and support even more? They “shrug” and the world as you know it ends. Capitalism works. Socialism fails every time.
It seems like Robert Griffin III is the only true leader in Washington, D.C.
It sure would be nice to be able to read the morning paper without first having to iron out all of the wrinkles and creases.
