All I want for Christmas is one day with no political opinions on the Opinion Line. Gee – get over it. It’s a time for peace and joy. Who cares?

It use to be that this time of year we counted down the days until Christmas. Now we count down the days until we reach the fiscal cliff. How times have changed. Merry Christmas, everyone.

Surely congressional Republicans realize that if they lead our country over the fiscal cliff, America will come down hard on them.

Obama doesn’t want a settlement to the fiscal cliff. It will mean more tax money for him to do with as he pleases, and that is what he wants.

The once-sincere environmental movement is being held hostage by fanatics. When flowers or shrubs become more important than people, we’ve lost perspective. The Endangered Species Act gives busybody Washington bureaucrats a club to use on the rights of the average American citizen.

Karl Rove led groups that spent $300 million in opposition to the president and congressional Democrats. More than 90 percent of that money was spent supporting candidates who lost. One wouldn’t know this listening to him Wednesday night. How much did the Kansas Livestock Association pay for this shoveling?

So the only reason a lot of people dislike President Obama is because he is black? Give me a break. It’s his inability to govern.

In a Share the Season article, a father needed help paying heating bills. Yet Westar Energy has raised rates so executives can receive millions in bonuses. What’s wrong with this picture?

Hostess executives want bonuses for driving the company into liquidation. Sounds like they are qualified to run for Congress.

It is obvious that the younger generation supports socialism and does not give a hoot about the Constitution. I look for a civil war to divide the country and give us our own slice of land that still honors the Constitution.

Anyone who signs a petition to secede from the United States is a traitor.

If you contend all regular activities ought to come to a stop for every veteran-related holiday, you are complaining too much.

I just booked airline tickets to the West Coast over the holidays. We saved $600 a ticket by flying out of Kansas City. For that kind of money, it’s worth the hassle. So much for my opinion of Wichita’s airfare subsidies.
