I hope the 63 percent of Kansans who voted for Gov. Sam Brownback also believe in charity, because there will be unprecedented poverty due to his policies. If you don’t believe in social programs, it only makes sense that you be prepared to care for these destitute families in your home.
I cannot fathom why “poor” people have such a hard time. They receive subsidized housing, free food, free clothes, free medical care, free or reduced breakfasts and lunches for their children, free weekend backpacks of food. Perhaps they need free cars and gas, too.
Now that the election is over, the book “What’s the Matter With Kansas?” by Thomas Frank should be required reading for every Kansas registered voter.
Government economic development giveaways, including STAR bonds and tax-increment financing, should be offered to all competitors of the enriched companies. To do otherwise is unfair and un-American.
According to Investors.com, the federal deficit is dropping faster than at any other time since World War II. Obviously, the president is not spending us into debt. Let’s get off his back, people, and work with him.
The rules of economics cannot, will not, be changed. No political song and dance, not even pretty words that tickle the ears of the gullible fool, will change reality. No society can exist where there are more takers than producers.
I can understand why fewer people celebrated Thanksgiving this year. With four more years of President Obama, and the fact that he, half of Congress and more than half of the U.S. population are trying to destroy the U.S., there’s little to be thankful for.
If a sale begins on Thanksgiving Day, the employer should have to pay its employees double pay.
When will unionized people ever learn?
I have worked for three businesses that had unions. I have found them loudmouthed and obnoxious, and to have outlived their time. They’ll be the death of our country. I’m glad that Kansas is a right-to-work state.
It’s not going to take too long before 18,000 unemployed Hostess employees wish they had never heard of unions.
I sure could go for a Hostess Twinkie right now.
Let’s wait and see how long it takes the government to build a border fence when taxpayers start trying to leave this country.
I wonder what the 97 House Republicans who think Democrat Susan Rice “misled the American public” about Benghazi would say Republican Colin Powell did when he told the public Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. Four people died in Benghazi before Rice’s comments. How many died in Iraq after Powell’s comments?
