What is the secret to getting called for jury duty? I’m 72, have lived in Kansas most of my life, drive, have never been arrested, etc. I would like to serve, but never receive any notice.
The Kansas Turnpike Authority won’t hire smokers or even the spouses of smokers. Why does it allow employees and their spouses to drink alcohol? The health risks are just as bad.
Thank you, Gov. Sam Brownback, for eliminating my Kansas state tax on business profits. Rather than hire, I will use the money to attend a “conference” in New York City. Thank you for funding my vacation.
Is Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger the only competent officeholder in Topeka? I imagine she will be targeted by the governor in the next election for her desire to do her job.
I hope as much as the next guy that President Obama loses in November, but it’s irresponsible of Brownback to stall on setting up a health exchange on the off chance that Mitt Romney wins.
I guess Romney thinks I’m a taker. My home loan is VA-guaranteed. I got my public school degree, helped by the GI Bill. I get Medicare and am eligible for Social Security. While he was in the south of France making Mormons, I was in the South of Vietnam taking incoming.
The problem with Obama is that he is in love with himself. He thinks he’s a Hollywood celebrity. He’d rather pal around with celebrities than put his nose to the grindstone and meet with the world leaders he needs to be meeting with.
Washington politicians call Social Security and Medicare “entitlements,” but we have paid for them. Now it’s time for us to collect, and the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow the money in the first place? Elect those who respect seniors’ rights.
The Democrats have certainly turned up the hate the past few weeks. That tells me they are worried.
So K-State beat OU for the first time in nine years, and you people act like you won the national championship. Enjoy this win for the next decade and remember: When your football team grows up, it wants to be Oklahoma.
Andy Williams has passed away. I saw him four years ago when he was 80, and he was great. He truly had an incredible voice. Rest in peace.
