Was it Kansas State or Wichita State that beat Oklahoma the other night? Because it was a shocker.

I’ll be writing in Bill Snyder as president in November.

If you think the win by K-State was an upset, you don’t know much about college football. OU is overrated. There are politics in football, too.

Dear WSU: Please bring back football.

Thank you, Wichita Wingnuts, for a great summer of baseball. It was fun to watch the team develop and reach the final playoffs. I hope many players will return next season. Thanks to the Wingnuts management, staff and manager Kevin Hooper.

I doubt that installing cameras in Old Town will curtail crime. Drunks and gangbangers won’t care if the cameras are there. Why should they? If they actually get arrested, they will get probation. That’s not much of an incentive to stop committing crimes.

Putting cameras in Old Town is like using sunscreen after the sunburn – a lot of money to “watch” the shootings. It can help after the fact, but isn’t it too late at that point?

That’s it. From now on, when I go out of state on a business trip, I’m wearing a fake nose, glasses and mustache, and hoping no one knows I’m from Kansas.

Sam Brownback and Kris Kobach appear to be having a contest: Who can set Kansas back the most?

I’ve never seen a city that so badly screams for a metro rail and better bus routes: We’re flat, wide open and sprawling, and our thoroughfares were disastrously planned. There’s no reason it should take 30 minutes to get across town.

There must be something wrong with my car’s speedometer. I drive the posted speed limit, and I am the slowest driver on the street.

How sad society has become that people will wait in line for days just to get a new cellphone. That gives us all a taste of President Obama’s vision for this country – not much different from a communist country.

I don’t care about someone’s offshore account, I care about my shrinking bank account. I’m more concerned about my taxes, not those of some politician. This nation is in financial trouble, adrift with no budget, a serious security problem, scary debt and an ineffective federal government.
