Kansas Republicans said the recent sales-tax increase would devastate our state economy and lead to higher unemployment. What we got were higher state revenues and stable employment. Now Republicans variously want to eliminate that tax early and cut or eliminate the state income tax. They continue to think that giving rich people more money helps the poor.
Kansas taxpayers should thank our Kansas government employees who work under the hardship of having to wait until age 52 to retire with full pensions.
The $2.25 million in guest taxes proposed to go to the hotel developers should be used to pay down the bill for the publicly funded $7.5 million parking structure, which will mainly serve the hotel.
All us poor folks need to get together and trade with one another in goods and services and cut the rich people out of the profits. We also need to form our own political party.

I read about people being thrown out of cars during wrecks and killed. If the car manufacturers made the latches out of metal instead of plastic, this might not happen as often. I know the theory about seat belts, but even they can injure you.
