I hope you read about these fine young men who died in Iraq (Dec. 11 Eagle). I pray for them and their families. I say “thank you” for their courage, hope and love of country. I will remember all of them.
If there are equal rights for both sexes in the military, why is it that out of 50 Kansans killed in Iraq there wasn’t one female?
Now that the citizens of Wichita will be able to vote on the Ambassador Hotel project in regard to the city’s financial involvement, it would aid informed voters if the profit-and-loss statement for the city-owned Hyatt Regency Wichita were made public. I remember being told it would be paid for by its profits. Has this happened?
Could it be that all the employees’ strikes for higher wages, even though they were already making better wages than most people in Wichita, have had a part in Boeing’s possible move? I told you so.
Why isn’t a cost-of-living increase for union members just called a salary increase? Most people do not get cost-of-living increases.
Does Sen. Jerry Moran really think the aircraft business keeps its word? We gave money to Hawker Beechcraft and Cessna, and the jobs are still going out of the country. Duh.
It is about time that teachers and administrators dress more professionally and separate themselves from looking like their young students. They should be examples as to what the students should expect when they get out into the adult work world and need to dress for success.
If you appreciate your day care providers, please remember them this Christmas, even if it’s with just a small token of your appreciation. They are raising your children, too.

I would like to commend the nurses in the emergency room and on the seventh floor at Wesley Medical Center for the excellent care given to my wife during her stay there. Nurses are angels in human form.
