It’s encouraging that Wichita saw a 16.7 percent decrease in the number of homeless veterans from 2015 to 2016. The progress is part of a national push to prevent and end homelessness and mirrors a decline nationwide. Locally, more than 50 groups are working together to assist veterans in finding housing and provide support services. In 2015, the coalition assisted 163 veterans in finding permanent housing.
