Good for Wichita State University for hosting a free seminar Wednesday on preventing and responding to sexual assaults at schools and college campuses. ESPN’s “Outside the Lines” program reported that colleges – large and small, public and private – can be slow to act on assault allegations, if they act at all. The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights recently added the University of Kansas to a list of 71 colleges under investigation for their handling of campus sexual assault. The WSU seminar is from 9 a.m. to noon at the Hughes Metropolitan Complex, Room 132, at 5015 E. 29th St. North. – Phillip Brownlee
