Opinion Line Extra (Oct. 25)

Do you people realize how narcissistic and unreasonable it is for the president of the United States to say a major news organization is not a news organization because it's the only one that ever criticizes him?

The Republicans have changed their strategy, if you haven't noticed. Instead of everything being Bill Clinton's fault, it's now Barack Obama's.

I thought our new president was going to do something about the gas prices. It looks to me like all he's doing is dancing around his office with his wife, wasting my money.

Sixty years ago, the Democrats were Republicans and the Republicans were Democrats. I just want what our forefathers intended: to be free. This government is trying to take over everything.

One week the health insurance industry questions the Democrats' health bill. The next week the Democrats are looking to strip the industry of its anti-trust exemption. The audacity of hope and change.

The simple solution to health care in America: Standardize the price of medical procedures in hospitals nationwide and pay all health care professionals a salary.

It sounds mighty fishy — such a big deal was made of the H1N1 flu and now there's not enough vaccine.

* * *

If you can't pay cash for it, don't buy it. This is the lesson we should learn from this economic crisis.

To quote a serviceman about gays in the military: "I don't care what his sexual orientation is. I just hope he's buff enough to pick me up and throw me over his shoulder when I'm shot."

A guilt trip is being put on the taxpayer again that more money is needed to feed our schoolkids healthy, balanced meals. Return to the original plan of one balanced meal placed on every plate and cut out the multitude of choices.

Why do I have to go to Tulsa to see the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the world — KISS — instead of seeing them at my new arena that I voted for? Why am I going to help the economy in Tulsa when I go out to eat and stay in a motel there, when I should be eating out in my own city and sleeping in my own bed?
