Christmas is just a few days away, but the weather isn’t in the mood to help set the mood in the Wichita area.
Highs will be near 60 Tuesday and in the 50s through Christmas Day in the region, forecasters say. Sunny skies and gusty south winds are expected Tuesday, with steady breezes in the teens and gusts reaching the upper 20s to low 30s.
Overnight lows will only fall to the mid-40s, forecasters say, with Wednesday’s highs reaching the mid-50s under sunny skies. Christmas Eve is expected to be mild and partly cloudy, with highs in the low 50s.
There won’t be a white Christmas in the Wichita area, with a mix of clouds and sunshine and highs in the mid-50s. But wintry weather is expected to return to western Kansas on Saturday and reach the Wichita area on Sunday, forecasters say.
