Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible in the Wichita metropolitan area through early Thursday afternoon, forecasters say.
“It’s going to be a hit -or-miss kind of thing,” said Jerilyn Billings Wright, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. “What we do get isn’t going to amount to a whole lot.”
Wichita recorded .03 of an inch from spotty showers that fell Wednesday afternoon, and Billings Wright said a similar amount wouldn’t be surprising from today’s showers.
Highs on Thursday will be in the low 80s under mostly cloudy skies. South winds will be in the teens, occasionally touching 20 miles an hour.
Clouds may scatter later in the day, but showers and thunderstorms are possible again on Friday, with highs in the low 80s. The weekend should be mostly sunny and pleasant, with highs in the mid-80s.
