And the heat goes on.

Wichita can expect another sizzler of a day Tuesday, forecasters say, with highs in the upper 90s. Sunny skies and light east-southeasterly winds are on tap as well.

Overnight lows will be in the low 70s as a few clouds move through the area, and Wednesday figures to be another hot day. Highs will reach the mid-90s, forecasters say, with south winds turning gusty late in the day. Gusts could reach 25 mph.

A chance of showers arrives late in the evening, with overnight lows again in the low 70s.

Chances for showers will persist into Friday, forecasters say, with cooler air moving into the area late in the week. Highs will be in the low 90s on Thursday and the mid- to upper 80s on Friday.
