Chances for showers and thunderstorms arrive after midnight, with overnight lows settling in the low 70s. Southerly winds won’t ease much even after sunset, still gusting to more than 30 miles an hour.
There’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms early on Thursday and a much better chance later in the evening for the Wichita area, forecasters say. Highs will reach the upper 80s and skies will be mostly cloudy during the day. South winds will be lighter compared to earlier in the week, with steady breezes in the teens and gusts creeping above 20 miles an hour.
Lows Thursday night will dip into the 60s, forecasters say, as the front moves through the region. Winds will be variable and ease a bit more, with gusts pushing into the teens.
Friday will see rain chances ending and highs in the upper 80s as skies clear, forecasters say.
