It’ll be a warm and windy day in the Wichita area Tuesday, forecasters say, with highs climbing into the 90s under mostly sunny skies.
South winds will intensify from the single digits in the morning to the mid-20s by afternoon, with gusts approaching 35 miles an hour. Winds will remain robust overnight, still gusting into the mid-30s, as lows only fall to the mid-70s under clear skies.
Wednesday will also be windy and warm, forecasters say, with highs again in the 90s. Southeasterly winds in the teens early will shift to the north and gust into the mid-20s.
That wind shift will signal the arrival of potential showers and thunderstorms in the Wichita metropolitan area Wednesday night. The rest of the work week and weekend will see the potential for strong storms, forecasters say, so residents should monitor forecasts and conditions closely.
