Wichita will get a weekend to dry out a bit after the monsoons that deluged the metropolitan area over the past couple of days.
Dry, autumnal air has moved in behind the front that latched onto the remnants of Hurricane Newton and delivered record-setting rains to the region. Highs should only be in the upper 70s on a sunny Saturday in Wichita, forecasters say, and may touch 80 on Sunday.
Winds should be light out of the north on Saturday before flipping to the south on Sunday and occasionally reaching the teens.
Monday should be pleasant as well, forecasters say, with sunny skies and highs in the mid-80s. But rain re-enters the picture Monday night, and chances for showers and thunderstorms will linger through the rest of the week.
