Light sporadic showers left Wichita residents with a couple of questions Wednesday: Umbrella or no umbrella? Windshield wipers on or off?
The sprinkles added up to 0.16 of an inch by the time the precipitation ended midevening, according to the National Weather Service. That pushed July’s rainfall to more than 3 inches, slightly above average for July.
Wichita’s rainfall for 2014 now stands at 19.58 inches, which is just a bit below average for the end of July. It will be a while before the next chance for rain arrives in the region, forecasters say, so umbrellas aren’t likely to be needed – unless people are eager for some shade.
