The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development today announced a range of disaster assistance for Kiowa County and Greensburg. HUD is:

Enforcing a 90-day moratorium on foreclosures and forbearance on foreclosures of FHA-insured homes.

Offering federally guaranteed loans to state and local governments for housing rehabilitation, economic development and repair of public infrastructure.

Offering FHA insurance to those who have lost their homes. FHA borrowers are eligible for 100 percent financing, including closing costs.

Enabling those who have lost their homes to finance the purchase or refinancing of a house along with its repair through a single mortgage.

Identifying vacant HUD-owned properties that can be used as temporary housing for those forced from their homes.
