City Manager George Kolb and Police Chief Norman Williams left for Greensburg this morning, hoping to find out what Wichita can do to help as the city cleans up in the wake of the monstrous tornado that destroyed almost everything in town.
Meanwhile, other city officials are compiling a list of things they may be able to offer, in addition to the public safety aid already in Greensburg.
Public Works Director Chris Carrier said dump trucks, heavy loaders and water and sewer workers are among the most likely assets the city will offer.
"We're ready if we're asked," Carrier said.
Mayor Carl Brewer and City Council members Sue Schlapp and Jim Skelton are also going to Greensburg with some federal officials this afternoon.
